Bath time triumph

Our first attempt at giving all 3 girls a bath in the tub recently was nothing less than a total disaster.  Just picture 3 naked babies screaming and scrambling to crawl out of a tub at once, and you have the idea.

After some coaxing and several tries at bath time, we've turned a major corner.  Last night, everyone had a screeching, squealing, splashing good time.   Maya had a meltdown when we took her out to get dried off.

I should have posted earlier, but our little peanuts had their 15 month check-up recently.  I was really hoping somebody would crack 20 pounds, but sadly not.

Hannah- 19 pounds, 7 ounces; 30 inches

Fiona- 17 pounds, 8 ounces; 29.5 inches

Maya- 17 pounds, 8 ounces; 29 inches

Thankfully, they all got the nasty stomach bug that swept through our house right after the check-up, otherwise they would have weighed even less.  The nurse's advice: pork up the girls with regular chocolate frappes.  As if I needed an additional excuse to have ice cream in the house!

Skirts and kisses

Today the girls wore the cute skirts they got from Jill for Christmas, and it was too cute not to document.

Triplet Dance Party

Jay got the girls dancing last night, thanks to his lovely singing voice.  Watch how Fiona rocks some wicked moves.  And please note the entirely desperate puppy at the end, frantically searching for his lost ball.

New Year, New Skills

Happy new year to you all! Sorry we've been MIA lately, but we have lots of new skills to show off in the new year....

Walking! Granted, it is still very much a drunk-Frankenstein walk, but each day it gets better. The look of joy and elation on each girls' face is totally priceless when they realize that they are standing and about to take a step.

Happy Birthday!!!

Happy 1st birthday to Fiona, Hannah, and Maya!!!

We can't believe it's been a whole year since you three lovely ladies came into the world.  Last year, you were born in the middle of a hurricane and the fall time change.

This year, you celebrate one year in the middle of a pretty historic election day.

This weekend, your family and friends will get together to celebrate with your big birthday bash.

And tonight, you got to try out cake and frosting in anticipation of your party.

Fiona was a little skeptical about the cake, and would only eat some frosting off my finger.

Hannah enjoyed her green frosting and painted her face with it to show her appreciation.

And Maya went Picasso with her cake, painting her face and her high chair with chocolate cake crumbs and pink frosting.

Adventure to Costco

On Sunday, I took Hannah and Maya to Costco, since the shopping carts there can hold 2 babies at once. Fiona stayed home and played pool with her daddy.

You know what? Two babies is a lot easier than three babies. They were fantastically well behaved, and provided many cute photo opportunities.

Hannah is being charming, and Maya is showing off her new snarly face, which I can't help but find hilarious.

And I love this picture, because it looks like I'm buying babies in wholesale. And I guess we did, since you could definitely call 3 little girls a bulk purchase of babies.

11 months, only 2 days late

Happy 11 months old, girls! Sorry I'm a little late posting to celebrate, but you have a tendency to keep us very busy these days.


We spent the weekend visiting my parents and my sister. Everyone conked out on a walk through downtown West Hartford:
